Presentation of experience by calligraphers and decoration artists

The Contents of Presentation:

  1. The calligrapher’s relationship with the talent, and how it developed?
  2. His methodology in calligraphy, decoration and writing of the Mushaf, if any, with the number of what he has written indicating both the published and those yet in manuscripts.
  3. His vision and aspirations.

 

    1) DR OTHMAN ABDO TAHA’S PRESENTATION:

    To be introduced by: Dr. Mu’eedh bn Musa’id al-Awfi.  

     

    CV of the first presenter:
    Name: Othman Ibn Abdo Taha.
    Nationality: Syrian
    Date of Birth: 1933
    Qualifications: Ph.D (American University in London)
    His Teachers: Hamid al-Amidi,  Hashim al-Baghdadi, Muhammad Badawi al-Dairani
    Current Job: Calligrapher of King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex, al-Madinah al-Munawwarah
    Participations: Member of the International Arbitration Committee of Arabic Calligraphy Competition in Istanbul (IRCICA)
    Search, Studies, Major Works: Wrote 10 Mushafs according to the well-known readings.
     
     
     

    2) MR NASIR ABD AL-AZIZ MAIMUN’S PRESENTATION:

    Name: Nasir Abdul Aziz al-Maymun
    Nationality: Saudi
    Date of Birth: 1957
    Qualifications: Secondary School Certificate
    His Teachers: Sayyid Ibrahim, Hasan Çelebi, Kamel al-Baba, Abdullah Rida
    Current Job: Official in the Ministry of Culture and Information, Riyadh
    Participations: Participated in many  international assemblies and won several merit awards in Kuwait, Oman, Rabat, Riyadh and Baghdad. He also received 29 awards in international competitions.
    Search, Studies, Major Works: He received certificates of appreciation  from international calligraphers, his art creations are found in many countries. He taught Arabic Calligraphy, designed the “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” on the 100th century logo, taught Arabic Calligraphy and has so far organized three private exhibitions, two in Riyadh and the third in Kuwait.

    3) MR BELAID AL-HABIB HAMIDI’S PRESENTATION:

    Nationality: Moroccan
    Date of Birth: 1959
    Qualifications:  
    His Teachers: Hasan Çelebi, Turkey (1997) and Ali Alp Arslan, Turkey (2000)
    Current Job: Teaching the art of Calligraphy in Egypt (al-Halaqa Establishment)
    Participations:
    • Member of arbitration committees in many competitions.
    • Participated in international festivals and conferences in the art of calligraphy
    Search, Studies, Major Works: Wrote the al-Maarif Press Mushaf, according to the reading of Warsh and  in Uthmanic Orthography (Printed)  and 5 other Mushafs according to the reading of Warsh.

    4) MR Ç HASAN ÇELEBI’S PRESENTATION:

    Name: Hasan Çelebi
    Nationality: Turkish
    Date of Birth: 1937
    Qualifications: Secondary Certificate
    His Teachers: Hamid Bey, Halim Özyazıcı, Hamid Aytaç and Kemal Batanay.
    Current Job: Retired
    Participations:  Participations: Participated in many local and international exhibitions including exhibitions in Dubai, Qatar, Malaysia and Iran.
    Search, Studies, Major Works: Taught different types of calligraphic writings and was a member of the arbitrary committee in IRCICA and others. He also received special recognition awards from the governments of Kuwait, Dubai and Turkish Ministry of Culture for his services to the Art of calligraphy. He wrote some sûrahs of the mushaf..

    5) MR ABDULLAH ABDUL FATTAH HANEEF’S PRESENTATION:

    Name: Abdullah Abdul Fattah Haneef
    Nationality: Afghani
    Date of Birth: 1961
    Qualifications: Graduated from Faculty of Islamic Arts, Kabul University (1984)
    His Teachers: Aziz Ahmad Mujawwidi
    Current Job: Arabesque Artist in King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex, al-Madinah al-Munawwarah
    Participations:
    • Participated in the competition of Islamic Arabesque in UAE and won the first position.
    • Conducted 5 exhibitions in Calligraphy and Arabesque in Pakistan
    Search, Studies, Major Works:
    • Has ijazah in all styles of Arabic Calligraphy.
    • Specialist in Mushaf decoration.
    • Wrote 11 juz’s of the Noble Qur’an according to the reading of Hafs (manuscript)

    6) FATMA İBRAHIM AĜA OĜLU’S PRESENTATION:

    To be introduced by: Dr. Maimunah Futawi.  

     

    CV of the sixth presenter:
    Name: Fatma Mahmud İbrahimağaoğlu
    Nationality: Turkish
      She started gliding in the year 1986 under the supervision of her brothers Muhammad and Uthman who both encouraged her on the arts of calligraphy and gliding. She also learnt from Fatma Cicek Derman. She glided the mushaf written by her brother Muhammad. She also participated in many exhibitions within and outside Turkey.
    She endeavoured to be outstanding, thus glided the Hilyah Sharifah of Shaykh Abdullah bn Zayid Al Nahyan. Her gliding have been used in printing some sûrahs of the Qur’an in Turkey. She also glided the 30th Juz’ of the Qur’an.

    7) NURIA GARCIA MASIP’S PRESENTATION:

    Name: Nuria Garcia Masip
    Nationality: Spanish
    Date of Birth: 1978
    Qualifications: Bachelor of French and Spanish Literatures, Georgetown University, Washington, USA.
    His Teachers: Muhammad Zakariyya, Hasan Çelebi, Hamdi Belied.
    Current Job: Full Time Calligrapher
    Participations: Participated in  the International Calligraphy Exhibition, Qatar (2010), and the Dubai International Calligraphy Exhibition (2010).
